Here is how you can draw these basic drawings in AutoCAD. Just Open the AutoCAD Application in your laptop or Computer, then click on START DRAWING, press UN in the command line below and press enter ( UN stands for UNITS Command ) then select DECIMAL in the first box, Then select 0.000 in the precision box and then select millimeters (as you can see in the below image) and just click ok.
Then you have to set the screen size you are working in. For that just press LIMMAX in the command line below and then press enter, Then press the value of 500,500 and press enter then press Z and press enter then press A and press enter, And now your screen (workspace) size is set to 500,500 so any drawing you draw with dimension less then 500 will appear on your screen
Lets Start the drawing
1. I shape: press L ( L stands for Line Command ) in the below command line and press enter, (make sure to keep the ortho F8 and F3 Osnap on) it will ask you to specify first point of the Line, Then just left click on your Mouse to specify the first point wherever you want. Then drag your cross hair/ mouse to to the right hand side and then press 80 and press Enter then you will see a line of 80mm then just drag your cross hair/mouse to the downside, you will see a line coming downside (every time you drag your mouse in any direction the line too will go the same direction) then just enter the value of 20 and press enter, Then drag your cross hair appearing on screen to the left hand side and enter the value of 30 and press enter then drag your cross hair to the downwards direction and enter the value of 50 and press Enter then move mouse towards right hand side and enter the value of 30 again then press enter and then again move your mouse towards down and enter the value of 20 then press enter and then move your mouse towards left hand side and enter the value of 80mm as above. And this is how you can complete the I shape drawing. Similarly you can draw the remaining diagrams.
Layers (colors)
To Change the color of any line or any object you need to press LA in the command line below then press enter a new window will appear to you. In that you have to create a new layer by clicking on icon available on the top left corner of the layers Window Then Rename it accordingly and change it’s color. And by double tapping on the layer you have created Enable it.
